Jeff Koons, retrospettiva al Withney Museum of American Art

Jeff Koons, artista di fama mondiale e quotatissimo alle aste, ha la sua retrospettiva al Withney Museum of American Art di New York. Per la prima volta una mostra offre uno sguardo sulla vasta opera di Koons dal 1978 ad oggi. Quasi 150 oggetti esposti in un racconto cronologico offrono la più completa panoramica su uno dei personaggi più importanti e controversi della scena artistica del dopoguerra. Jeff Koons ha saputo valorizzare gli effetti della massificazione, ottenendo vasti consensi del pubblico, alla stregua di Andy Warhol, partendo spesso da oggetti del quotidiano.

La mostra “Jeff Koons. A Retrospective” non è solo la prima grande esposizione dell'artista a New York, città dove vive, ma è anche l'ultima mostra che si svolge nell'edificio progettato da Marcel Breuer, prima dell'apertura della nuova sede del Withney Museum of American Art nel Meetpacking District nel 2015, realizzato dall'architetto Renzo Piano.
Per tutti gli amanti dell'arte contemporaneo una buona notizia: la grande retrospettiva di Jeff Koons arriverà a novembre 2014 al Centre Pompidou di Parigi per poi proseguire al Guggenheim di Bilbao nell'estate 2015.
