Arup is an international firm of designers, engineers and technical consultants that through an expanding agenda of specialisms satisfies the ambition of Total Design. Involved in design, planning and project management, the group, through a multidisciplinary approach, deals with a wide range of complex projects at all scales from urban infrastructure to buildings and products. The central focus is on sustainable design supporting the UNSDG’s and cities.

With offices in more than 40 countries, the company employs over fifteen thousand people making it possible to handle large numbers of projects simultaneously. According to the will of its founder, Ove Arup, the firm is collectively owned by every one of its employees. Since it isn’t influenced by external owners or shareholders, it can operate freely and formulate the best solutions independently. Ove Arup (1895-1988), a leading engineer of his century, was the catalyst for a series of complex, iconic structures from the Sydney Opera House, the Olympic Village in Beijing, London’s Millennium Bridge, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and Kansai Airport in Japan among many others. Arup now works with the best Architects internationally and also with its own Architecture teams growing around the world.
